Stop Complaining
I was in the bus one fateful morning heading to Owerri from Ihiagwa, as we embarked on our little journey , two men at the back seat were discussing some matters that I have no interest about. So I pickup my earphone and plugged in to my phone and tune to one John C. Maxwell's leadership teachings.
At around police station Ihiagwa/Nekede road (Don’t worry yourself if you don’t know the place) the bus got on fire (literally speaking) with the topic the men at the back were discussing.
“Na you vote Buhari & dis nonsense change”
“Na you say make we de suffer”
“You de craze, my pole pole, my pole pole”
“Buhari na your father and Rochas na your uncle”
All of these and more were words I could hear in the bus and everybody was busy blaming those in government and those who voted them in.
Am not much of bus discussions but i decided to try it out with them that day because of the topic and I asked few questions that threw the bus into the grave yard.
These are some of the questions I asked them;
How many of you here in this bus have PVC?
How many of you here in this bus belong to a political party?
How many of here are going to vote on election day?
How many of here are willing to fight for their votes?
I won the audience with these questions, so i reach out to my pocket to pull out my voters card to show as evidence that we all ought to do same. I also continued by telling them that it is because none of them has answers to the above mention questions that is why they are all complaining.
Since we dont have PVC (voters card), don’t belong to any political party and we don’t vote nor protect our votes as such we only give the evil politicians authority over us.
Immediately one of the women seated in the front roll in the bus interrupted me and said “I’m a christian and has nothing to do with politics”.
Those words of hers set my spirit ablaze, i told her there without mixing words that she was/is the problem we are facing today and at this point everybody is confused and asked “how?”
I answered and said that i am a christian but i have my voters card, belong to a political party and will cast my vote on the day of the election to the person of my choice. She said “it’s not right”
All I could find that moment was Hosea 4:6
6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge,”………
Isa 9:6
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, and The Prince of Peace.
Col 1:18
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: …………
Having dropped these quotations for her, I asked her to relax as I explain it for her.
The word of God she claims to read as a Christian said that we are the body of Christ and Christ is the head and the Government shall be upon His (Christ) shoulders which means that the body of Christ (the church) which comprises you and I are supposed to have the government for Christ and be in the government with Christ.
WHY? The answer is found in
Prov 29:2 KJV
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
With this every one of them in that bus found out they have been wasting the power given to us by God and have sold it out to the ungodly and we are now suffering.
So my brothers and sisters, go register to get your PVC, belong to any political party of your choice, don’t sell your vote, don’t sell your conscience and let us vote out the ungodly then vote in the godly and the result will be joy.
Stop complaining and use that energy to put the righteous in the government.
Let us make a difference come this 2019 election by taking positive ACTION.
