It was Barrack Obama who made a profound statement on Africa in his official visit to Ghana that "Africa doesn't need strong men, but strong institutions " The unfolding political events in IMO state  where heavyweight Politicians are throwing political banters at each other in one of the political parties is a clear evidence of Barrack Obama's statement. At a time when Pensioners are dying in long queues due to arrears of pensions, our leaders are caught up in political thug of war. At a time when our state's IGR is consistently dropping and our state rated 26th on the ease of doing business in Nigeria, our leaders are caught up in political battles in their selfish interest as against the interest of the people of IMO state. Leader or Boss?

Over the years I have been asking myself some questions... Am I a leader or a boss? I have read so many books also on leadership trying to understand the concept of leadership and how a leader acts. So many books came up with so many definitions and illustrations but one strikes my heart. John C. Maxwell in his definition of who a leader is said that "a leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way" From the definition I derived that a leader first discovers himself, leads himself and shows others how he was able to achieve that. Going further I also realized that leaders are people oriented and boss self oriented. In one of Myles Munroe books titled "INCHARGE", he pointed it out that when a group led by a leader fails in their goals, it is the leader that fails but when the group wins or achieve their goals, the group wins.
