Teach your children your business
Teach your children your business
Yes, I advice that parents should teach their children their business because it runs in them.
I walked down to Ihiala market to pick up some ingredients to garnish a nice Okra soup.
Imagine a bachelor like me, I just have to organize the food as fast as I can before anything that evening because I was just so hungry.
I bought some Okra, onions, salt, pepper, ice fish and others. Just as I was about leaving the market I heard a voice saying ......
Onyinyechi: Oga zuru kwa ugu iga etinye n'ofe gi (meaning "sir, buy some vegetables for your soup).
Me: Yes!! I screamed
Just to find out that she was selling the same thing I forgot (vegetables)
Me: how much do you sell?
Onyinyechi: sir just #50 and above depending on what you want.
Honestly my heart started pumping very fast.
(For the love of teens)
Me: Put #100 vegetables
Me: didn't you go to school today?
Onyinyechi: I went to school but we have closed for today and I rushed down to the market to do my business.
Me: What of your mum?
Onyinyechi: she is the one you bought the Okra and onions from.
Me: why are you not doing the same thing with mum?
Onyinyechi: I use to help her out before not until I found out that there is no one selling ugu (vegetables) around her so I decided to go into the ugu business.
Me: how did you raise money to start the business?
Onyinyechi: hmmmm, I have saved up to #3000 then, I told my dad about it and he supported me with additional #5000 and mum gave me #2000 to make it up #10,000 to start the business.
Me: how long have you been in the business?
Onyinyechi: soso 2years (just 2 years).
Me: do you intend to still do this business after school?
Onyinyechi: sir, to be sincere to you, I love the business and I would want to expand it by having my own farm where I can be planting them myself.
By this time, I forgot that I was hungry and my eyes where already on my shoulders mopping at this young lady.
Me: do you mind if I take a picture of you?
Onyinyechi: yes sir!!
I can't believe myself
Her parents gave her the shoulders and now she is thinking business.
Starting on time to teach our children, Teenagers our business, craft or job will change a lot of things in their lives.
The truth is that they carry your Gene and they would do that business better and faster than you can.
They can go farther than you would have, if and only if you take them by the hand and teach them yourself.
Times and seasons are changing
Trends or things are changing too
Handiwork, Agriculture and other business are taking the order of the day.
Coach your child yourself and see them fly like the eagles
Let me stop here for today but I have been thinking a lot of things concerning my teens lately.
