SEEN VS. KNOWN
There are principles and approaches to everything. To be seen is good but to be known is more valuable. Being seen is the ability to showcase both valuable and nuisance value.
To be seen you just need to pour out there content consistently.
Being known comes with a purpose in mind. The intentionality of being conscious about what people see. It's an art of deliberately putting a consciousness of you in the mind of people seeing you.
Every little things you want to post in the name of I want to be seen. The aim isn't to be seen. The aim is to be known. Each time you put out content, you are either just seen for the nuisance value you constitute or the content value you can be remembered for.
To be known starts with being seen. It doesn't end there, you must be seen with a core message. A message that leaves people thinking about you.
In year 2006, I made a decision to have as personal value ability to always dazzle people. It's the message that affected my philosophy and approach to being seen.
I don't go out there to post bullshit, I am intentional about everything. Every post is calved with an intention to be known for something.
If we do an audit of your social media post, marketing and visibility what one statement can we use to summarize you. If we can't get hold of one, you certainly have been constituting nuisance all these while. Like I always say, people don't need your permission to form an opinion. And when you are perceived as unserious they ignore you. You also need to know that friends and family hardly tell you the truth because they don't want to hurt your feelings.
Everything you do is always fine. But in a real sense you may actually be gabbage of nonsense.
HOW TO BE SEEN
Firstly, let's do the math. The logic behind visibility with the applications of 80:20 rule.
Value increases with number. Visibility of being known is a game of number. The more you are known(not seeing), the valuable you become.
80% of what most people do are not seen.
Only 20% are seen. And only 20% of the 20% seen are known. Meaning only 4% of the 100% of what you do are known hypothetically.
Inverting it means, make 80% of little successes and progress, details to be seen.
Such that 80% of 80% seen are known. The ability to make 80% of what is seen known is the consciousness you put into what is seen.
This however gives you an overall performance of 64% of what is seen to be known. This is where influence begins.
DONTS OF VISIBILITY
1. Message driven content - don't post what has no value or meaning. In other words anything you post that doesn't make someone to pause and think is bullshit.
According to STD visibility model usually used by big organizations for brand awareness.
STD - means See, Think, Do
See - ensure you always put out a message. This is the reason you can't read my post and not pause. I am intentional about affecting your mind. The aim is to make you go through this STD model.
Think - the idea is to make people to think about what is seen. The aim isn't not to feed the eye. If all you post is to feed the eye you will never be known. The impact starts from when what is seen affects the mind to think.
Your being known is when your content freezes the time of the reader construing him/her to think about you and your content.
Do - seeing isn't not enough thinking is not sufficient, making people to act is the end point .
The point where what you put out there make so much sense that people have to comment and share your post.
Question is if 80% of your content is not worth sharing, it means you are suffering from chronic content-kwashiokor.
2. Genuineness - here is the point. Don't post anything that makes people to perceive you are a poor man. Likewise don't live a fake life. It's an oxymoron. Posting everything that is not necessary is like putting a water dispenser in a reception with no water. Each time people try to drink water they go to the dispenser but no water. Then, they begin to complain. But the fact is, if there's no water dispenser they won't complain but the moment you put water dispenser without water you will make them complain.
People don't know or have a perfect idea of what you should post - be deliberate.
80% of human decisions are based on what is seen. 15% is assumption which is based on the 80% and 5% is deep thinking. By the way 95% is the majority.
Only post what elevates you. Everything you showcase is either devaluing or adding to you.
So, don't snap in a dirty environment and write a post of about success. The post can just be without picture and people will read it and not miss the picture. It's common sense.
But when you post such picture you turn your post to an oxymoron - nuisance in other word.
Keep originality. Brand and always have a goal for showcasing.
3. Consistent showcasing isn't visibility. Posting and putting content every minutes isn't visibility. Sometimes it just shows a gross idleness. What matters is consistency in your messages, tone, brand are what makes visibility not how often you post.
Law of scarcity is important in the quest of visibility. Give people some sense that you have a life aside social media. Don't just post here and there every minutes. It'snt how often but how impactful what you post is all about each/anytime you post.
By the way my hand is paining me already for typing. But there is always more to these. If you want more stay glued to my timeline.
Thanks
