Teach your children your business

Image
Teach your children your business Yes,  I advice that parents should teach their children their business because it runs in them. I walked down to Ihiala market to pick up some ingredients to garnish a nice Okra soup. Imagine a bachelor like me, I just have to organize the food as fast as I can before anything that evening because I was just so hungry. I bought some Okra, onions, salt, pepper, ice fish and others. Just as I was about leaving the market I heard a voice saying ...... Onyinyechi: Oga zuru kwa ugu iga etinye n'ofe gi (meaning "sir, buy some vegetables for your soup). Me: Yes!! I screamed Just to find out that she was selling the same thing I forgot (vegetables) Me: how much do you sell? Onyinyechi: sir just #50 and above depending on what you want. Honestly my heart started pumping very fast. (For the love of teens) Me: Put #100 vegetables Me: didn't you go to school today? Onyinyechi: I went to school but we have closed for today an...

WOMEN ARE THE POWERHOUSE

Image
WOMEN ARE THE POWERHOUSE Hmmmmmm I know some men here would want to shoot me down to dead before I land but then hear me out. Take your time to take this journey with me. Driving down to Ekwulobia from Ogidi through Nnobi, I stumbled to the sight of one side of the market where there were bunch of women. I asked my friend to pull over so I could check out some few things in the market. Not knowing why I said so, he pulled over and step down straight to the market (Afor Nnobi). I walked through the area they where selling red oil, out of approximately 30 people selling red oil, only 3 where men. I also walked down to the ice fish and red meat side, I also found out that it's just almost the same thing. It took me close to 30minutes to satisfy my curiosity that women are taking the lead in virtually everything in that market. I made a mistake and I asked some of them some questions. Questions like; 1. Why are you doing this business? 2. Is there no other thin...

THE MAKING OF A LEADER

Image
1. Self Awareness Most times in my journey of speaking to people and learning leadership, I have come to realize that you can't lead if you don't know. Permit me to say it this way, that if you don't know yourself and understand yourself, you can't lead anyone! You can only manage people and that is not leadership. Self awareness in Leadership is the knowledge and understanding of your own character. Self awareness is the understanding and knowing the origin/content/traits of your character This means to uncover the hidden treasure about your hidden you by the creator (God). A wise man once said "the strength of a leader is based on his self awareness or discovery." When a man discovers himself then he can lead with purpose and vision. So a leader first discovers himself and leads himself through the discovery he had made, this defines his core values and message. John C. Maxwell in his words defined a leader as "One who knows the w...

DEDICATION

Image
Lots of people have told their success stories and the hidden failures in the stories. So many of these stories are anchored on one word DEDICATION. I have not paid much attention to the word and what it implies not until I saw the image below. Discussing purpose brought me to this point. I searched for the meaning of the word on dictionary, I also went through the internet to see what I could get. Guess what? To dedicate is to give a lot of time and effort to a particular activity or PURPOSE because you think it's important. Dedication also on the other hand is the hard work and effort that somebody puts into an activity or PURPOSE because they think it is important. Wow!!! Committing to your PURPOSE till it turns out a reality because you believe in it and because it is dear/important to you. Sincerely, it rang in my mind that why a lot of people have not really achieved their purpose or targets in life is that they have not seen how important it is for them to c...

MONEY IN THE SMALL STORIES

Image
My story is bad, I don't feel like sharing it, it doesn't worth listening to and I can't make out anything from it. Wow!!! Are you sure??? I don't think so! The challenges you feel you are passing through today is a testimony to share tomorrow to make money. 🙄 Yes I said so. Searching for inspiration and clarity in business, I took myself out to visit my friend who later turned my mentor Mr. Nzube Chancellor Onyeaghasirim. I stopped at the Eke Ututu market and he came down from his shop to pick me up. Sincerely from Ihiala to that place on bike is quite a journey. Was just trying to relax my body from the trip I took, my friend engaged me on a discussion. The first question he asked, startled me. Nzube:. What did you learn from your trip to Ghana and what are you ready to do immediately? Me: Ehm ehm ehm Nzube: Anyways, how was the journey? While we get talking about my journey and the new things I saw in Ghana and the friends I mad...

Self Education: A vital tool for Economic Growth, Community Development and Nation Building.

Image
Preparing to speak in this topic I decided to check what education means and this is what I found; Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. I was astonished when I saw the last part of the definition "the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits." I also went back to my bag to check my degree graduation video only to hear the vice chancellor of my school say that "I have been found worthy both in character and in learning. And I asked myself, who taught you character in this school, even the learning. We just rushed to class to take attendance. I realized that many things that brought me to where I am today were things I learnt outside school. They are things I learnt on my own from the trainings I subjected myself to. To have a better economy in our country, we don't have to be depend solely on the formal rather self education should be en...
